The books once loved
Now covered in dust
Unopened, unexplored
Forgotten.
The reader once eager
Now lays as hours pass
Oblivious to the surroundings
Motionless.
The mind once inquisitive
Now doesn’t speak
Slipping in and out of reality
Dazed.
The eyes once bright
Now devoid of their charm
Love for words forgotten
Subdued.
The durst that gathers ever so often in the memories of self pity.

I was never really a book lover, but this poem shows what an intimate connection you have with books. Great share, dear!

proving questions, then different relations like sin/cos/tan(-θ), sin/cos/tan(2π-θ) and others, then using unit circles, then sin/cos/tan graphs, then sin/cos/tan (A+B) and sin/cos/tan(A-B), then sin/cos/tan(2A) and (3A) and more but then this comment becomes too long😂

This brings back some pretty melancholic memories of when I became disenchanted with reading. Such an inspiring write ❣️

Thanks! A lot of friends of mine said “the book thief” is a great book, haven’t heard of it though, so I’m planning to check it out tomorrow!

A lovely poem. Makes me want to go dust my books and make sure they know they are loved even if it has been a while. 🙂

Yes! I haven’t touched my books in what seems like forever, I was planning on doing the same.
Thanks a lot for reading☺️

I know what you mean… Mine are in a tote, because I had a few suffer water damage when our basement flooded. No room for them anywhere else, but I might have to dig out a few. 😛
And it was a great read. 🙂

Oh dear, that’s terrible! Good thing you’re gonna get them out! I had a string of exams, followed by a bit of exhaustion, so I completely forgot about them😅

Hi Kriti, this is deep, real deep. A few sentences but very strong emotions.. l so loved it. Hope you are doing good, keep doing you. – Cezane

I’m glad you liked it Cezane. That’s the beauty of poetry I guess, filling a few sentences with relatively deeper meaning. Had a considerably rough week, which inspired me to write a few poems.
Hope you have a good day!

I’m a bookworm and this is an amazing poem! 😍
Yes, depression can really take the joy out of reading when it attacks.

The affection of books can an enriching experience. When a person becomes hooked by a certain book, very little matters until the book is read to the final page.

So true! I find it so annoying when someone disturbs me whilst I’m reading a book! But then again, my family finds it irritating that I absolutely refuse to budge😂
